Endocrinology Fellowship Research

Research training in the Clinical track is an important rotation for fellows in each year of their education. Trainees spend three months of their first year and six months of their second year on the research rotation. This is a required rotation for both years of training. Trainees maintain their continuity clinics, conferences and other educational activities during the research rotation. Fellows choose one or more mentors to guide through their chosen project. Trainees will spend direct one-on-one discussion with a mentor, attend and complete all courses and institutional requirements for conducting clinical research. Additional teaching in research conduct and practice is often provided through group discussions with other members of the research team, research conferences and Journal Club.

Divisional faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized experts in their respective fields. Specific areas of research strengths include: clinical and basic research in diabetes mellitus, pituitary, adrenal and thyroid disorders and endocrine alteration during critical illness.
