Pulmonary Fellowship Benefits, Application Process and Contacts

Benefits: Trainees are entitled to a four-week annual vacation, a salary commensurate with their level of training, as well as health insurance in accordance with the policies of UH Cleveland Medical Center. Below is the fellow pay scale:

Training Compensation
PGY4 $58,500
PGY5 $60,400
PGY6 $62,975
PGY7 $64,800

In addition, fellows have funds available for travel, boards, and educational materials: first-year fellows are eligible for $500, second-year fellows are eligible for $1000, and third-year fellows - for $1,500.

Application Process: The program offers four fellowship positions a year. All applications to join the program should be submitted through the ERAS system.

ERAS application materials must include:
  • Three letters of recommendation (including a letter from the program director of your internal medicine residency program)
  • Personal statement
  • Official medical school transcripts
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
  • USLME Transcript if applicable
  • Valid ECFMG certificate for foreign medical school graduates if applicable
  • Photograph

Application deadline is September 1. Interviews are held in September and October.
